Freedom! It is one of the most highly requested desires in this area of time. We all seem to be focusing on our career, improving our skills and is so determined to succeed, that we often forget our human need just to take time off… or at least have the freedom to decide what, where, how and who we will spend our time with.
The short version is; You’re already free! You were born free! If you don’t feel like that, then it’s because you have accepted to live under some circumstances that take away your freedom. Thankfully, that can be changed, and you have the power to reclaim your independence and freedom at any time.
Your freedom is your responsibility.
Like any other area of life, you must take responsibility for your past, present, and future. You must take responsibility for what had to lead you to your present circumstance, and you must take responsibility for what you like to be different, including your freedom.
What I would like you to do as the very first thing, is to locate where in your life you feel stuck, and what areas of your life you would want more freedom. Write it down – it makes it easier for you to work with it.
Freedom is essential for me, especially in my career and professional life. I love to study, explore, and learn new things, but I don’t thrive with someone else telling me what to study and by when, nor do I thrive been in a classroom or at a workplace all day long, being told what to do. I knew from an early age that I should be an entrepreneur and self-employed, because it gives me the freedom to study, do, and work with whatever and whoever I want to. 9-5’s doesn’t exist in my world, and I am not forced to work from a specific place. It doesn’t matter if I am home in Denmark or am sitting at the water in Bali – I’m still able to work… All I need is my laptop and Wi-Fi.
If you want freedom in your life, you must create balance.
We spend a huge amount of our waken hours working. That’s how our world is designed at the moment and the way we’re making our money. Hopefully, you have a job you’re passionate about and love, so work doesn’t really feel like work. If not, then it’s time to find something else to do.
Sometimes, we have to work almost around the clock, because we’re having a deadline and things get kind of busy. That’s okay! If you have a period of 3 months with an intense work-schedule, then make sure you take time off for the next couple of weeks or so. Maybe take on vacation somewhere, just to get away from everything.
When you’re home, then it’s time to take time off and be present with your family and friends. Do something fun and appealing – something that makes you want to take time off.
I like going on adventures, to see, explore and experience new things, have fun and enjoy quality time with those I’m with. I easily get very bored, so I sometimes come up with some pretty crazy things to do or say.
I trying to take my weekends and Danish holidays off. I also kind of like following the national school’s holidays calendar. It’s not always it’s working out for me because I’m so passionate about what I’m doing and it really is my call and Life Purpose. But at least I am trying ?
Now, while work and career is a huge part of our life, so that’s why it’s the main focus of this article. But money and financial freedom are in my opinion equally important as work and career. They kind of going along with each other – or should do!
Balance also comes into play, when we are talking about financial freedom. To attract financial freedom, you must work on two things; Developing an abundant money mindset and Balancing your expenses and income, so you always have more coming in than going out. It doesn’t really matter how much money you make, create a yearly, and monthly budget is still a good idea. It helps you to keep track of your money and developing a healthy and growing bank account – which leads to financial freedom.
You must learn to say “no.”
Everyone sees the world from their point of view and very often delegating the stuff they don’t want to do themselves to others. We all, secretly, want to do what’s easiest for ourselves so that we can move on with our life.
How often have you googled something to find the shortcut? While I don’t believe in quick fix-it solutions and I don’t teach how to manifest something like a quick fix-it solution, I’m still a firm believer in delegating the stuff you either don’t want to do or don’t know how to do.
On the other side, we also have to say “no” when something isn’t the right fit for us. I have no numbers on how many times I had turned a potential client down, simply because I knew it wouldn’t be the right match – and it’s usually the right decision in the end!
The more you learn to say no, the more time, energy, resources do you have to do what you really want to do – which is the ultimate freedom.
Time is our most expensive currency – so use it on what’s really matters, which is your health, happiness, thrive and fulfillment in life.
You don’t have to do everything for everyone – and you certainly don’t have to take on any job, task or offer headed your way. I live by the rule – If it isn’t a HECK YEAH! Then it’s a no. As a Libra, it had saved me a LOT of indecision and time picking the right choice ?
What is holding you back?
The Universal truth is; You can have anything you want in your life, and you have anything you need right at this moment! If you’re in lack of something, or you don’t like your present circumstances, then you must take responsibility for changing that.
There is nothing in your life, that can appear without you having manifested in the first place. Everything in your life is a manifestation of your most dominant thoughts, emotions, and actions – so if you like something to changes, then you must change it from the inside and out.
